North American Launch of IYP

On November 18, 2015

At New York, NY, USA

A luncheon will take place at the UN Headquarters in New York City, hosted by the Canadian Mission to the UN. Celebrating pulses and IYP, it will bring together Ambassadors, UN staff involved in food security and nutrition as well as a GPC delegation.

In addition, the American Pulse Association, in cooperation with Pulse Canada, has worked hard to arrange a media event that will highlight the nutritional role of pulses, as well as other key messages from the international year. Taking place at the Michelin-starred restaurant, Public, this dinner will convene four famous chefs, who will run tasting sessions for a public of journalists and bloggers.

The chefs include Alex Guarnaschelli from Food Network, Michael Solomonov of Sahav, Seamus Mullen of Tertulia, and Sam Mason of OddFellows Ice Cream. The executive chef of the restaurant – Brad Farmerie – will prepare four passed appetizers that will be offered to attendees as they first arrive, including the winning “National Signature Dish” Lentil & Cauliflower Taco recipe created by blogger Cookie and Kate.

The event will surprise, delight and educate all attendees on the four core pillars of the IYP (Sustainability, Food Security, Nutrition, and Versatility) while crafting a world-class culinary experience to generate excitement over the International Year of Pulses.

This event is by invitation only.
